INTEGRATED PROJECT DELIVERY
The cornerstone of Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) is collaboration between the Owner, designers and constructors from the project's inception – the ultimate goal being efficient delivery of the project as a whole. It’s this early team building and integration that serves to provide the opportunity for the greatest project cost reductions, during the early design phase.
This approach utilizes the knowledge, experience and creativity of the design and construction team and focuses them on global project execution rather than their respective project “silos.” Maximum effort is deployed during this design stage when the ability to reduce overall project costs is highest and the cost to make changes is lowest.
The major advantage to this approach is cost savings – major cost savings. The larger and more sophisticated the project, the more this approach provides value for the owner.
