This project brought many unique challenges many of which centered around the fact that it was being built atop a four story recently completed and fully occupied municipal parking ramp. The existing structure and podium were fully surveyed before the construction could begin and the building design and column placement had to be carefully planned. The building also features several energy-efficient and sustainable design elements, some of which include solar PV system, high-efficiency HVAC systems, and a green roof and Madison’s first blue roof system is designed to collect, store and control the release of stormwater while delivering irrigation to vegetation and offering green space for residents. The entire Stevens Construction team orchestrated the project management professionally and expertly with attention to detail, quality craftsmanship, and a high standard of integrity all in the midst and uncertainty of the Covid pandemic.
