The Oakwood Apartments renovation in Plymouth, Minnesota included interior upgrades to 107 residential units, focused on kitchen and bathroom improvements and supporting building infrastructure.
The project scope included demolition of existing kitchen and bathroom cabinets, countertops, appliances, flooring, tile shower surrounds, toilet accessories, and light fixtures, followed by installation of new finishes throughout all units.
Work was completed in two phases. Phase one included replacement of outdated and leaking kitchen and bathroom water shut‑off valves at all sinks and toilets across 107 units. The building’s main water risers were also reconfigured, splitting the system from a single zone into three separate zones to allow plumbing shutdowns to occur in portions of the building rather than requiring a full-building shutdown during future maintenance or repairs.
Phase two consisted of full kitchen and bathroom renovations throughout all 107 units, including replacement of flooring, cabinets, countertops, light fixtures, and appliances.
Stevens Construction Corp. self‑performed the rough carpentry work on the project, including demolition of cabinets, countertops, and toilet accessories, as well as installation of new cabinetry, cultured marble vanity tops, and toilet accessories.
